What you’ll do

  • Provides quality clinical work to clients (individual, couples, families – which may include children and groups) across a broad spectrum of issues
  • Works across all client types (individual, couples, families – may include direct work with children and groups) including complex intakes / assessments
  • Provide counselling – managing increasingly complex cases
  • Participate in related clinical activities
  • Participate in regular case consultation/supervision
  • Maintain case notes, client and administrative records
  • In addition, one day a week, you’ll facilitate groups, creating a therapeutic learning environment for clients to explore individual, couple and family relationship issues

The details

  • Permanent part time role, based at Bathurst
  • 2 days counselling and 1 day group work facilitation
  • Approx $41-$42 per hour + super + salary packaging benefits

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant disciplines including counselling or an equivalent qualification
  • A desire to develop your experience and do further studies in couple and family therapy
  • Training or experience in working with Family and Domestic Violence, Parenting groups, Post separation programs and children in groups is desirable
  • Minimum two years’ experience working in the human services environment working directly with clients
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team;
  • Efficient administrative skills including the use of information technology and data bases for communication, data collection and evaluation
  • Previous experience in group work training
