What you’ll do

  • Support the service delivery for the MBC Casework and MBC Therapeutic Groupwork Program
  • Supervise Caseworkers and Groupworkers
  • Assist in the development and support of Therapeutic Caseworkers and Groupworkers
  • Along with key stakeholders develop and enhance RANSW’s role in the men’s behaviour change sector
  • Provide quality therapeutic casework and counselling support for MBC participants focusing on behaviour change; and/or supporting victims/ survivors of DFV
  • Conduct sessions using multiple mediums including face to face, telephone, video and other mediums
  • Apply person centred, trauma informed, practice and strength based approach to working with clients
  • Maintain service to clients from referral to closure as appropriate, including all clinical and administrative tasks
  • Assess and refer clients to relevant services according to client identified need
  • Maintain accurate client records
  • Enable clients to start taking responsibility for their behaviours
  • Assess the risks to victims and needs of children and other family members. In accordance with the family safety program, provide family members with relevant services eg counselling, family therapy, WCC.
  • Work with the Domestic & Family Violence Manager to build and maintain a team of staff in service of this program including recruitment, on-boarding and management of staff
  • Implementation of the appropriate framework and forms as part of the MBC program
  • Liaise and work with key organisations including Police and Aboriginal communities

What you’ll bring

  • Formal graduate qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant disciplines
  • Minimum 3 years experience in working with families that have experience family domestic violence
  • Casework experience with individuals and families
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Experience working with men who are perpetrators of violence
  • Experience with working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and ability to ensure cultural safety
  • Understanding of men’s behaviour change practice and the impact of DFV has on others
  • Demonstrated skills, experience and training as a clinical supervisor, giving and receiving live supervision
  • Highly developed therapeutic skill base for assessment, engagement, case planning and working with people who have experienced loss, abuse and trauma
  • Experience in facilitating men’s behaviour change programs is advantageous
  • Completion (or working toward completion) of relevant training in MBC practice i.e. Grad Cert in MBC (Individual and Group) is desirable
