RANZCO is the Not-For-Profit medical college for ophthalmologists in Australia and New Zealand. RANZCO has a small staff complement that “punches well above its weight” and has a three-year Strategic Plan 2021-2023, which aims to build on the College’s successes to date while clearly articulating our vision, mission, and strategic priorities.

We are looking for an experienced philanthropy development professional to support the launch and implementation of the new strategy for the Australian and New Zealand Eye Foundation (ANZEF), the philanthropic arm of RANZCO.

We are seeking someone with “allrounder” profile who is comfortable and experienced in customer service / donor relations, who has administration, project management, marketing, and communications skills, knows how to navigate a CRM, data, mailing lists, and coordinate virtual and in person events.

Ideally, they will be experienced and interested in developing their knowledge coordinating social impact programs, partnerships and grant making in the health and not for profit sectors.

This would be an opportunity to work in a professional, flexible, supportive environment and to advance ANZEF’s vision of access to the best possible eye care for people and communities in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region.

This is a part-time ongoing position, 4 days per week.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree qualified, with demonstrated experience in project and program management, administration and communication preferably in a not-for-profit, health care or education setting.
  • Flexible and responsive, with strong organisational and multi-tasking skills, with demonstrated ability to establish and realise objectives in a collaborative professional environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills: proven ability to think creatively and independently and exercise initiative, and to establish productive relationships.
  • Fundraising and donor relations experience with working knowledge of current fundraising and engagement tools and practices and demonstrated ability to influence and build support for values-driven programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to write persuasively and present complex information in a clear and compelling way and across diverse audiences and channels

This role is based in Surry Hills, Sydney, conveniently located opposite Central Station. However, currently staff are working remotely from home (supplied with suitable technology) and will do so for the foreseeable future. There will be the need to attend the office on occasion and it is envisaged that long-term there will be a hybrid office/home working arrangement.
