About the role

Reporting to the Centre Manager and working closely with the Shepparton team, your responsibilities include the provision of high quality, culturally sensitive relationship counselling and therapy, including education programs to individuals, couples and families. Counsellors will have expertise in childhood development and family dynamics and be able to respond to a diverse range of issues: including trauma, violence and abuse, parenting concerns, stress and anxiety, separation and divorce and blended families.

The role is based in Shepparton and is a part-time position, working three (3) days per week on an ongoing basis. There is an expectation that you will be available to work one late night per week providing services on Tuesday 12noon to 8pm.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline including family therapy, social work, counselling, psychology.
  • Previous supervised professional experience in relationship counselling and family violence.
  • Demonstrated application of therapeutic modalities relevant to working with individuals, couples and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and couples where family violence is present and accurately assess for family violence.
  • Understand and be able to practically apply relevant legislative regulations.

A competitive salary package is on offer to the successful candidate with a base salary range of $86k-$89k (pro-rata) per annum, superannuation and access to salary packaging.
