This is an exciting opportunity for a professional family dispute resolution practitioner (FDRP) to join Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) and our highly-skilled team in Ballarat.

About the role

As the Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) Practitioner, you will be able to apply your skills and experience to provide effective FDR to families by assisting to resolve issues in dispute such as parenting arrangements and property settlements. Reporting to the Centre Manager Ballarat, you will be responsible for undertaking assessments and mediation, group work (as required) and providing information, support, and referral to match presenting needs to services and programs.

This position is based at our Ballarat Centre and is a permanent, part-time role working three (3) days per week. The successful candidate will be required to work an evening shift (until 8pm) each week to deliver services to meet the community needs.

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in social sciences, social work, law or psychology;
  • Successful completion of the Vocational Graduate Diploma in Dispute Resolution;
  • Demonstrated previous experience as a family dispute resolution practitioner;
  • Registration as an FDRP under the Accreditation Rules or on the Register of FDRP maintained by the Attorney-General’s Department for eligibility immediately; and
  • Experience or training in property as well as willingness to undertake training.
