Adult Specialised Services includes the Redress Support Service, for those who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse and who are considering making an application to the National Redress Scheme. As well as the Counselling & Support Service for those impacted by the Disability Royal Commission.

There is a vacancy for a permanent position of Clinical Supervisor, based at West Leederville.

The role – Clinical Supervisor (15hrs wk).

The Clinical Supervisor is a senior practitioner role, having advanced experience and skill in trauma informed counselling. This position provides leadership through effective guidance and developing a positive environment of critically reviewing practice and maintaining safe effective peer support for two small teams. 

Skilfully supporting counsellors/case managers who support people who have experienced complex trauma, childhood sexual abuse, people with disability, including those who live with psychosocial/ mental health considerations. Providing consultation and support for staff regarding sustainable work practices and self-care to mitigate against the risks of burnout and vicarious trauma.

Essential

  1. Tertiary degree in social work, psychology or counselling.
  2. Understanding of and experience in working clinically, providing counselling for survivors of childhood sexual trauma.
  3. Advanced skills in counselling, including experience in working with people with complex mental health considerations / psychosocial disability.
  4. Experience and training in providing individual and group clinical supervision, including the ability to evaluate skills and to assist identify individual training needs.
  5. Understanding of the issues experienced by people in marginalised and vulnerable groups.
  6. Effective interpersonal skills
  7. Evidence of work within the ethics of clinical practice.
  8. Ability to provide support and debriefing to staff working in a highly sensitive and impacting field.
  9. Administrative and record keeping skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with clinical practice.

Desirable

  1. Experience in supporting people with disability.
  2. Experience in facilitating professional development training.
