About the role

We are currently seeking a dedicated Lead Support Worker to support people living with a disability to achieve their goals; such as living in their own home, recreational pursuits, independent travel and social and community participation. As a Lead, you will also support the Team Leader with mentoring and coaching of the Disability Support Workers in your team.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Providing personal care support to promote optimum health and wellbeing; Providing direct support to assist clients to access appointments, social and leisure pursuits;
  • Working closely with families, professionals and other stakeholders in a person’s life taking on a ‘keyworker’ role;
  • Working to meet the unique needs of each individual by following their individual plans and working towards their bigger life goals, assisting them to capture their achievements along the way;
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to staff to ensure high quality, customer focus, safe and well organised operational services;

What do you need to apply?

  • Ability to work in accordance with Rocky Bay’s Purpose and Values. 
  • Qualification in Disability or equivalent (E.g. Cert III or IV)
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with people with disability, colleagues, and members of the community.
  • Effective mentoring/coaching skills; Ability to efficiently problem solve, think clearly and quickly
  • A positive attitude, enthusiasm and flexibility

Essential:

  • Current WA driver’s license;
  • NDIS worker screening check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Proof of current Influenza Vaccination
  • Two professional contactable references (one from your current or most recent employer)
