About us

The Congregation of the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart is a Catholic Congregation of Religious Women founded in France in 1874 by Fr. Jules Chevalier, MSC.

The Congregation is international in character and has a specific missionary purpose. The Australian Province is headquartered at the Provincial Office in Kensington NSW and is led by the Provincial Leader with advice from her Council.

The Provincial Office, currently located at 2 Kensington Road, Kensington, NSW, is the Congregation’s operational hub, responsible for supporting some 24 communities and associated works functioning across Australia; in addition, it offers support to the Congregation’s international communities.

The role

Reporting to the Province Business Manager, you will provide efficient and effective support in the end-to-end finance functions including transaction processing (accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, petty cash management and reconciliation etc.); streamlining of financial processes; and financial reporting and compliance.

You will assist the Business Manager in the effective operation of the Provincial Office and provide organisational support to the Sisters, including assisting them with their IT and communications needs and local travel requirements.

You will coordinate, evaluate and recommend improvements to the operational requirements of the Province, in areas such as insurance, information technology, telecommunications and records management.

You will be first point of contact for visitors and callers and the go-to person for general office support and assistance.

The role is a permanent part-time role, ideally worked over 4 days a week, with flexible work arrangements considered.

About you

You will have relevant professional qualifications and experience in areas such as Business Administration, Finance or Bookkeeping.

Your knowledge, understanding and skills in small office management, contemporary administrative and customer service practices, IT and telecommunications systems, and your proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications and accounting software (such as MYOB) are key to this role.

Just as important is your collaborative work style, and ability to balance multiple priorities and work with the elderly.

You will have a flexible approach to work and show initiative, attention to detail and have excellent time management, written and verbal communication, analytical and customer service skills.

You will support the mission, values and charism of the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and ideally have an understanding of the faith-based or for-purpose sector.

If you meet these key requirements and are interested in working for an organisation that strives to make a difference in the lives of others, we would love to hear from you!
