REACH HR is leading the search for this boutique 75-bed aged care centre based in Punchbowl in the south west of Sydney. This inclusive and progressive care centre is a new facility for elder members of all communities. Residents live within a caring, secure and homelike environment which promotes all lifestyles, cultures and experiences.

Mission-centred and values driven, the centre aims to provide exemplary care and accommodation, recognising the role of the elderly play in the broader community and foster their continued relationship within that community.

The Role

Reporting to the Facility Manager, this role is responsible for providing clinical and management support in the operations of the St Charbel’s Care Centre (SCCC), whilst upholding the centre’s vision, mission and values.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Care Management - Provide leadership and oversight of the pre-admissions and admissions process, care planning and ACFI assessments & funding, address resident/family and community needs
  • People Management – staff and volunteer recruitment, orientation and training, promotion of the SCCC’s culture, policy and procedure development, WHS compliance
  • Financial Management – manage the application of the Aged Care Funding Instrument, target occupancy, assist in budget preparation
  • Policy & Procedures – development of these as required, Continuous Quality Improvement, evaluation of quality programs
  • Compliance – assist with preparation for accredication of service, development of systems to provide feedback from residents, families and staff, managing non-compliance matters
  • Strategic & Operational Planning – ongoing development of residential care and development of non-residential care service opportunities
  • Reporting – monitoring clinical indicators across the facility
  • Marketing & Promotion – development of public relations material, promotion of SCCC to the broader community

This is a full-time role and based in Punchbowl in Sydney’s south west. Ample parking is available and close to public transport.

Key Requirements

The ideal person will have the following knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse and current registration with AHPRA
  • Tertiary qualifications in Management, or relevant clinical specification e.g. ACFI
  • Aged Care management and leadership experience
  • Experience leading teams, ideally in a previous care manager role
  • Ability to lead nursing staff in the delivery of person-centred care
  • Advanced working knowledge of the Aged Care Act 1997 and all other relevant legislative requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively across varied stakeholders groups including a Board of Directors
  • Sound knowledge of and experience in ACFI maximisation and resident care planning
  • Sound knowledge of computers and clinical programs
