Community Coordinator - Emerging Futures Collaborative Limited

Reach HR

Join a dynamic service organisation contributing to the living and shaping of the future of religious life in Australia

The Organisation

The Emerging Futures Collaborative Limited (EFCL) is a ministry established by a collaborative of Catholic Religious Institutes in Australia to provide administration and support services to Religious Institutes. The Missionary Sisters of Service (MSS Sisters) has partnered with EFCL to provide support services, and we are seeking to appoint a Community Coordinator to ensure the congregation, individually and collectively, is supported to continue to live their religious life and mission and to assure their wellbeing. The MSS Sisters comprises 25 sisters living in living in Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland and South Australia.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, EFCL, this new role will involve a combination of holistic care and support to each sister, ensuring appropriate services and resources delivered by others are in place and monitored, and reporting and escalating, where necessary, matters to the MSS Canonical Delegate, MSS Stewardship Council and EFCL Management.

You will ensure every sister, who requires it, is provided appropriate health and aged care support, by providing care coordination, access to full suite of assisted living supports and access to appropriate clinical support through a mix of government and Province funded services.

You will offer pastoral care and support which nourishes, heals, sustains, and nurtures each sister as her life journey unfolds and transitions. You will provide individual advocacy, companionship and ensure each sister maintains connections with family and friends.

This role carries within it an understanding of the importance of maintaining the independence and self reliance characteristic of MSS sisters. Therefore, you will support, as appropriate, each sister to continue to express her mission as a Missionary Sister of Service, and ensure congregation connections and traditions are maintained internally and with broader congregational networks.

You will support Professional Standards compliance and ensure the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards are complied with and up to date. You will also maintain a comprehensive master copy of each sister’s personal file in keeping with relevant policies and checklists.

The Community Coordinator would not be the nominated person for all roles outlined here and in the position description, but they have accountability to ensure all appointees involved in the holistic care and support of each sister are in place and up to date and there is a clear process for how to access power of attorney information.

This role is a permanent, full-time position and will be located in Melbourne. It is envisaged the Community Coordinator will combine working from home and from meeting space locations in Melbourne as required from time to time. The role will require travelling interstate.
