RedR Australia provide skilled people and training to help communities prepare, respond and recover from crises and conflict. RedR Australia maintains a roster of more than 750 technical experts across a range of skill profiles including disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, and recovery and stabilisation activities in times of need.

RedR Australia manages Australia Assists, the Australian Government’s humanitarian civilian deployment program, deploying technical specialists to help partners prepare for, respond to and recover from natural disasters and conflict globally.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Manager, Strategy and Risk, the Associate Manager will support the Risk, Safety and Security team through the timely and accurate implementation of all safety and security protocols as well as all related administration. Additionally, they will contribute to the ongoing evolution of policies, systems and processes; conduct risk assessments; liaise with partner agencies; and conduct pre and post deployment briefings. A sensitivity towards the various lived experiences of our deployees will see you excel in this role.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

As a key enabling function to RedR Australia’s core activities of overseas deployments and humanitarian training, the position works closely to support all other departments and excellent inter-personal skills and emotional intelligence are key to success in this role. Demonstrated experience working in risk/safety/security operations is required for this role; you could have a background in the military, international programs or private sector. We are flexible as to where you have built up your work experience, but it should be transferable to this role. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has an interest in international affairs.
