Senior Client Services / Intake Officer - Alice Springs

This position is responsible for performing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Client Service Officer (CSO)/Intake in the Alice Springs office to ensure effective service delivery and to provide oversight of the Client Services/Intake Officers. This position is instrumental in delivering a high standard of service delivery to both RA-NT’s clients and internal/external stakeholders. It will involve case management of sensitive client matters and liaison with counsellors, mediators and other personnel across all RA-NT offices.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience of working in a professionally competent manner in a human services setting and an ability to engage distressed clients to identify their support needs, both in person and by telephone.
  • Demonstrated client services/office skills with the ability to coordinate multiple service delivery functions.
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment and lead a small team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to address client concerns and a demonstrated capacity to problem solve.
  • Experience of working with client records in a secure and confidential manner.
  • Ability to demonstrate professional competence when screening and assessing people experiencing family relationship issues.
  • A high level of initiative, flexibility and time management skills.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences or other relevant areas or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the Not for Profit sector.
  • Driver’s License
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Fire Warden Certificate

Requirements:

  • A satisfactory Northern Territory working with children check.
  • A satisfactory national criminal history check.
  • A commitment to our Safeguarding Children Practice and Behaviour Guidelines.
