Richmond Fellowship Queensland (RFQ) is seeking professional and motivated people to be a part of its Metro South team. There are multiple positions available within this program.

About the position

Do you have or are willing to support people transitioning from a correctional facility into the community?

In this role, you will be providing evidence-based and recovery-oriented support to people discharged from correctional facilities. You will work collaboratively with the Prison Mental Health service to transition people out of corrections and reintegrate them back into the community, providing reach-in support whilst clients are still incarcerated and intensive community based support, once they are discharged. You will assist clients to achieve their identified goals and aspirations, work closely with Community Mental Health and provide support with day to day tasks and activities, and develop professional working relationships with stakeholders to achieve best possible outcomes for clients.

Working as part of a wider team, you will have your own client caseload and will be provided with on the job supervision on an ongoing basis.

Requirements include

  • Degree or Diploma or Certificate in a human service related field and/or demonstrated previous experience working with people with mental illness
  • Understanding of the complexities and challenges faced by people with a lived experience of a severe and persistent mental health diagnosis
  • Ability to work autonomously and professionally within RFQ's service philosophy and values
  • A strong sense of professional boundaries and integrity
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a registered roadworthy and insured vehicle (minimum third-party property)
  • Undergo criminal history screening and obtain and maintain a valid NDIS worker screening clearance pursuant to the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld)
  • Willingness and ability to undertake vaccination in line with Queensland Health requirements and directives

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to effectively engage with clients, colleagues, stakeholders, and service providers

  • Have advanced abilities to use internet based technologies
