In 2018, 2,600 families were able to stay close to their sick child at one of our Ronald McDonald Houses and over 50,000 visitors made use of the Family Rooms to take some time out from the ward.
Our values are integral to everything that we are as a Charity and how we interact with the families staying with us, our volunteers, supporters, donors and ourselves. These values are Collaboration, High Quality, Integrity, Loyalty, and Diversity (CHILD).
We are currently recruiting for casual After-Hours Family Liaison Officers to join the team at our Monash, Parkville and North Fitzroy Houses. After Hours Family Liaison Officers provide overnight, weekend and public holiday supervision of Ronald McDonald House.
The successful candidate will be working shifts across our three Melbourne Houses – Monash, Parkville and North Fitzroy, depending on shift allocation and location. It is a pre-requisite for the role that candidates are available to work outside normal office hours including overnight and weekend shifts and occasional business hours shifts to cover for staff on annual leave, a driver's license and car are desirable.
Our After-Hours Family Liaison Officers work shifts that are a little different from your standard 9-5 roles. For example, a standard shift could look like;
Please note the ‘sleep at the house’ portion does not contribute to the paid hours; however, an allowance is provided for that period.
We offer a unique working environment with this role being more than just a clock in clock out position. To be successful in this role you will be great with people and will be happy to roll your sleeves up from time to time. You possess the skills to follow strict guidelines when needed while showing compassion and kindness that align with our values.
