This is an exciting role in a growing, innovative and well-respected local charity.

Roundabout Canberra is a volunteer-powered local charity. Our aim is to provide women and families experiencing hardship in Canberra, and the surrounding regions, with essential items and equipment to ensure the safety of their babies and children. We work directly with community organisations and other not-for-profits to help individuals and families in need. We allow the services we assist to focus on their core business while we ensure that essential items are available in clean and safe condition for those they support.

Reporting to the CEO, this role will be responsible for the coordination of Roundabout Canberra’s operations, including order management, liaison with social workers collecting orders, warehouse facilities management and inventory/stock management.

The role includes the following duties:

  • Coordinating orders in consultation with the Operations Assistant and Administration Officer, including packing orders where required
  • Inventory and stock management in the warehouse
  • Ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for all team members
  • Procurement of stock and warehouse supplies
  • Warehouse facilities coordination
  • Fostering relationships with social service organisations’ team members
  • Ensuring the order management system is updated
  • Effective communication regarding operational matters with relevant team members
  • Working closely with the Volunteer Coordinators to determine operational effort required by volunteers
  • Participating in administrative projects under direction of the CEO

Other duties as reasonably required to contribute to the organisation.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  1. Demonstrated ability to lead, support and work with a diverse team including volunteers
  2. Demonstrated customer service skills
  3. Demonstrated sound problem-solving skills, time management and attention to detail
  4. Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Current working with vulnerable people check or willingness to obtain one.

A background in retail or warehouse operations management, with front of house customer service experience will be beneficial for this role.

REMUNERATION:

This is a part-time six-month contract with possible extension for 14 hours per week (days to be discussed with the successful candidate) with remuneration in line with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award Level 4.1. Hourly rate $36.69 + super and generous salary sacrificing benefits are also available.
