Rubix Support provide support to people aged between two years to sixty five years old. We are a registered provider under the NDIS and provide services across three main areas - positive behaviour support, support coordination and lifestyle support. We are focused on evidenced based best practice and are passionate about achieving positive outcomes for the people we support.

Rubix Support aims to improve the personal wellbeing of people with cognitive impairments with complex support needs through specialised, coordinated assessments and support and to provide extensive training and support to its empathetic, experienced and energetic staff.

Rubix Support’s Vision is to be a leader in the provision of evidence-based, practical, individualised behaviour assessment and support for people with intellectual impairments with complex support needs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

A rewarding and challenging role, as a casual disability (lifestyle) support worker you will be instrumental in providing support for our participants and making positive contributions to their quality of life.

Rubix Support is currently looking to develop a team of staff to provide supports to a family based in the Narre Warren South Area. Rubix Support is looking for both male and female support workers who can fill a variety of support shifts across day, including morning, active overnight and some weekend supports.

Within this role, you will be supporting individuals with their daily tasks within their own home (such as personal care requirements) and during any community based activities.

ABOUT YOU

Rubix Support are looking for people that:

• Are great ‘people’ people!
• Have experience supporting individuals living with disability (preferred)
• Have good core values in relation to inclusiveness and respect
• Have a passion for supporting people to achieve their goals and aspirations
• Excellent communication and people skills; and are not afraid to ask questions
• Have empathy and understanding for individuals and families
• Have a current driver’s license and vehicle to provide Participants transport support during shifts
• Must have availability for a minimum of three days per week
• It is preferred (but not essential) that applicants have attained relevant qualifications or are studying disability related qualifications (eg: Bachelor of Applied Science (Disability), Advanced Diploma in Disability, Certificate IV Disability) or another related health and community services area. We also welcome those who may not have any direct experience supporting people with a disability but are committed to learning on the job
• Are committed to following the company’s policies and procedures, and following all specialists’ assessments including behaviour support, communication and occupational recommendations
• Remain calm under pressure, identify risk factors and make sound decisions
• Have understanding and knowledge of the Disability Act 2006 (Victoria) and knowledge of supporting people with cognitive impairments
• Willing to complete a NDIS Worker Screening Check prior to commencement

• A current First Aid and CPR qualification
• A current driver licence
• Employees are required to ensure that they have Full Comprehensive Insurance at all times on the vehicle being used.
• Employees are required to ensure that the registration on the vehicle being used is also current.
• Employees are required to have a current First Aid and CPR at the commencement of their employment.
