Your new role

With this key role full-time or part-time, take your next step in your health and safety career with this key role. Build on your health and safety expertise and practical approach to advocate and foster safe workplaces for our employees, volunteers and clients.

Working in the People and Culture team, the Health and Safety Advisor provides advisory services and operational assistance to line managers and staff on workplace health and safety and risk management issues, has key responsibilities in the implementation and ongoing development of SHM’s H&S Framework and undertakes the Return to Work Coordinator role. Your day-to-day

  • Implement our Health & Safety framework and grow our safety culture
  • Manage incident reporting and together with the relevant manager ensure action is taken to address the cause
  • Prepare and analyse data to maximise our health & safety initiatives
  • Coordinate health & safety assurance activities
  • Be an active member of our Health & Safety Committee
  • Facilitate injured workers’ swift and effective return to work
  • Maintain health & safety policies and procedures

We're looking for someone

  • Passionate about growing a health and safety culture
  • Keen to broaden and develop their skills and knowledge
  • Experienced in providing support, guidance and advice on H&S issues
  • Able to interpret and practically apply workplace H&S legislation and codes of practice
  • With great relationship building skills
  • Talented in data analysis and report writing.
  • Possessing qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety
