EPIK Disability Services is part of St Anthony’s Family Care, a not-for-profit organisation based in Croydon that has supported the local community for over 65 years. Our mission is to work with children and young people up to 25 years of age and we operate a range of services to meet the needs of this group.

The organisation is currently working towards the completion of a major site redevelopment, and as a result, we are looking to expand our team.

EPIK provides a range of services including individualised support, group programs (after school, weekend and school holidays) and overnight accommodation.

Disability Support Workers are responsible for providing care and support to service users with a diverse range of needs which may include complex behaviours.

Duties involve providing personal care, administering medication, meal preparation, housekeeping and participating in a range of activities both in the centre and the community.

Working as a casual Disability Support Worker for EPIK is a fun and highly rewarding position. Staff are well supported by a skilled Coordination team, have access to regular training and support and will work in beautiful new facilities.

Suitable candidates must be self-starters, highly motivated and have a genuine commitment to wanting to support people with disabilities to enjoy life, be part of the community and achieve their greatest potential.

EPIK services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Currently, we are seeking individuals who are available during our peak periods. Availability to work these hours will be prioritised:

  • 2.30pm onwards during the week
  • School holidays 9-3pm or 8-5pm
  • Weekends Saturday & Sunday
  • Overnight shifts including sleep overs

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Experience working with children and young people with disabilities
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex needs and challenging behaviours
  • Understanding of human rights and the challenges facing those with a disability
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • A commitment to person-centred approach
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Working with children check
  • First Aid and CPR certificate
