Refuge Victoria is a not-for-profit specialist family violence organisation funded by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services based in Melbourne's east and outer eastern suburbs.
We provide a range of specialist family violence services, support and advocacy for women and children living with the trauma of family violence, based in our refuges.
The role
We are looking for a motivated, passionate and experienced Social Worker to work with us on a full-time basis, with some out of hours (on call) work required periodically.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Deliver therapeutic responses to women and children affected by family violence
- Crisis response and prioritising client safety & needs as the impact of COVID-19 continues to exacerbate the risk of family violence
- Undertaking high-quality risk assessments and safety planning to meet the needs of women and children
- Provision of daily complex case management which focuses on supporting clients, promoting safety, developing strengths and building upon capabilities
- Advocating for women and children and linking them to community-based services for support including health, mental health, financial, counselling, legal, court support and access to material aid
- Ensure the completion of all case management documentation, for operational compliance
Key Selection Criteria
- 4+ years’ full time work experience
- Bachelor of Social Work with eligibility for AASW membership
- Family Violence Refuge case management experience essential
- MARAM Training and experience preferred
- Exceptional organisation, communication and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work as part of a team, and unsupervised
