ABOUT THE POSITION:

The successful candidate will be given an opportunity to participate in improving other people’s lives by delivering person-centred services, working with a range of clients (across the age span) with various needs (from short-term involvement, to complex, long-term needs). This will involve, but is not limited to:

  • Providing behaviour support for children and adults with complex disability and psycho-social support needs; complex mental health issues; and trauma based presentations.
  • Conducting a range of assessments of a client’s presenting issues and support needs, and identifying appropriate supports, interventions and service models.
  • Designing, developing and implementing intervention plans and strategies.
  • Facilitating the delivery of clinical frameworks and activities.
  • Providing client support including clinic or home-based sessions, training and resource development.
  • Working with a multidisciplinary team to optimise outcomes.

The position will be based in Canberra and will include some travel for specific client work around the Canberra metro area and an occasional travel to NSW for team meetings. There is also an option to work from home for administration/report writing.

CRITERIA:

  1. Tertiary qualification in Psychology or a related discipline (e.g.: Education; Habilitation; Social Work; etc.) relevant to the field of behaviour support.
  2. Experience in working with people with intellectual disabilities, mental health issues and / or experiences of trauma who have complex needs.
  3. Experience in providing clinical and / or behaviour assessment, intervention and support in the disability, out-of-home care and / or other relevant sectors.

Due to the nature of our business, it is required that our staff:

  • Have a current Driver’s Licence.
  • Have a current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening, or the ability to attain these checks.
  • Are willing to adhere to the Government requirements regarding vaccinations for workers in certain sectors.

  • Salary Range $70,000-$80,000 plus Super and other benefits
