ABOUT THE POSITION:

The successful candidate will be given an opportunity to participate in improving other people’s lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred services, working with a range of clients across a range of care needs from short-term involvement, to complex, long-term needs. This will involve, but is not limited to:

  • Delivering sensory assessments (SAL Consulting Group utilises the Adult/Adolescent Sensory Profile in the completion of these assessments),
  • Delivering functional assessments (SAL Consulting Group utilises the Vineland III in the completion of these assessments),
  • Developing treatment and therapy plans,
  • Providing client support including clinic or home-based sessions, training and resource development. 

The position will be based in Perth and will include some travel for specific work around the Perth area. The successful candidate will also get an opportunity to travel to remote areas and interstate and collaborate with SAL Consulting Group’s teams in other states, if desired. There is also an option to work from home for administration / report writing.

The position is suitable for experienced practitioners as well as recent graduates as we aim to tailor a caseload, supervision and training to our practitioners’ specific needs.

The consulting nature of the job provides our practitioners with flexibility, work diversity and an ability to manage their own time.

The qualifications, skills and experience the role requires include:

Essential Criteria:

  1. A degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent and registration (or eligibility to register) with AHPRA;
  2. A current Driver Licence, and ability and willingness to travel.

Desirable Experience, Interest and Skills:

  1. Experience or interest in working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or experiences of trauma who have complex needs;
  2. Experience or interest in comprehensive assessments of individuals functional needs; sensory assessment and profiling; mobility assessment and equipment provision; and holistic lifestyle assessment and associated goal setting;
  3. Experience or interest in administration and interpretation of the Adult/Adolescent Sensory Profile and Vineland III Adaptive Behaviour Scales;
  4. Proficient writing, communication, analytical and assessment skills;
  5. A capacity to work autonomously as well as work as part of a team, maintain a team identity and build relationships with colleagues who may be working across various locations.
