ABOUT THE POSITION:

The successful candidate will be given an opportunity to participate in improving other people’s lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred services, working with a range of clients across a range of care needs from short-term involvement, to complex, long-term needs. This will involve, but is not limited to:

  • Conducting a range of assessments of a client’s presenting issues and support needs, and identifying appropriate supports, interventions and service models;
  • Designing and developing intervention plans and strategies;
  • Facilitating the delivery of clinical frameworks and activities;
  • Providing client support including clinic or home-based sessions, training and resource development.

The position will be based in Perth and will include some travel for specific work around the Perth area. The successful candidate will also get an opportunity to travel to remote areas and interstate and collaborate with SAL Consulting Group’s teams in other states, if desired. There is also an option to work from home for administration / report writing.

The consulting nature of the job provides our practitioners with flexibility, work diversity and an ability to manage their own time.

The position is suitable for experienced practitioners as well as entry level practitioners as we aim to tailor a caseload, supervision and training to our practitioners’ specific needs.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR PRACTITIONERS WHO HAVE:

1. Tertiary qualifications in Psychology and AHPRA registration;

2. Extensive experience in providing clinical and/or behaviour assessment, intervention and support in the disability, out-of-home care and/or other relevant sectors;

3. A current Driver Licence, and ability and willingness to travel.

Desirable Experience, Interest and Skills:

  1. Experience in working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or experiences of trauma who have complex needs;
  2. Proficient writing, communication, analytical and assessment skills;
  3. A capacity to work autonomously as well as work as part of a team, maintain a team identity and build relationships with colleagues who may be working across various locations.
