ABOUT THE ROLE

A new and exciting part time opportunity is available for a suitably qualified and experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join the team at Samarinda. Working closely with a range of stakeholders across the organisation, the key areas of this position are:

  • Develop and lead the organisations positive behaviour support framework across our aged care and disability services
  • Deliver individual strategies for residents and clients with complex needs
  • Ensure organisational compliance with restrictive practice legislation

This position is three days per week with flexibility of days and is based in Ashburton.

ABOUT YOU

Our new Behaviour Support Practitioner must have:

  • A genuine focus and passion for aged care and disability services
  • Experience supporting people with behaviours of concern
  • Demonstrated experience in assessment and intervention and developing, delivering and evaluating behaviour support plans
  • Sound knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards, NDIS and relevant legislation
  • High standard of written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Desire to make a real difference and work within the values of Samarinda
  • Tertiary qualification in Disability, Social / Behavioural Science, Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline
  • Current registration as relevant with AHPRA / Psychology board of Australia
