Bid Specialist - Location Flexible

Save The Children

Sell a 'product' you're passionate about! Our Australian services are growing, and we're looking for a talented, collaborative bid specialist to manage and craft winning tenders and funding proposals to help us sustain our impact and take us to the next level. This national role is critical to achieving our ambition of changing the story for Australian children and families, living in the most complex circumstances and hardest to reach places across the country.

Save the Children is no ordinary international not-for-profit.

We're ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children's rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We've been working in Australia for over 70 years, delivering game-changing services for our most vulnerable children and families - from early learning in Collingwood to family support in remote Queensland.

Where you come in:

In this full-time permanent role, you'll help us sustain and increase our income, impact and influence in Australia, delivering more game-changing support for children and young people in our own backyard. Based in any capital city (or otherwise by negotiation), you'll be a senior member of our national team, reporting to our Head of Strategy and Growth.

You will make an impact by:

  • Initiating, writing and coordinating high value funding proposals, in close collaboration with Australian Services practitioners, technical experts, as well as finance and human resources staff
  • Where required, managing multidisciplinary bid teams to deliver major tenders and proposals, with clear and compelling win themes and detailed bid workplans
  • Leading internal review processes to ensure bids are clear, precise and impactful, meeting all required deadlines and service specifications
  • Scanning and building new business opportunities and viable income streams

Does this sound like you?

You're an outstanding communicator, with runs on the board in creating winning funding proposals in the children and family sector, and a gift for distilling complex technical information into concise, compelling messages that cut through and inspire your audience. You have an agile, entrepreneurial outlook, and you build relationships easily with both internal and external stakeholders. You're a results-focused self-starter, energised by ambitious targets and excited by the impact you can make.

This role requires:

  • Exceptional writing and project management skills
  • Track record in high value new business acquisition, ideally in the Australian children and family services sector or similar
  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, and an ability to meet strict deadlines while managing multi-disciplinary and/or remote teams
  • Degree in a relevant field, or significant relevant experience

Working at Save the Children is more than just a job.

It's the feeling of knowing that your work is contributing to making the world a better place for children and working with others who feel the same. In addition to a connection to social causes, you will have access to:

  • Individual learning plans to assist in your career development
  • Full salary packaging benefits
  • Additional annual leave options available
  • Agile work environment including working from home (WFH)
  • Child and pet friendly work environment
