Where you come in:

In this part time fixed term position (19.5 hours over 3 days per week, for 12 months), you'll co-ordinate the planning, implementation, and review of culturally appropriate developmental play and learning experiences for children. You'll also provide support and information to parents on developmental issues and make appropriate referrals to other health, education, and welfare agencies. Based in our Sydney office, you'll be part of our Play2Learn team and report to our Team Leader, with travel to various locations in the region required.
You will make an impact by:

• Planning and facilitating weekly playgroup sessions
• Finding creative ways to encourage families to engage with our support programs and services
• Identifying and addressing physical, social/emotional, and educational needs
• Providing information and referrals to families to access other relevant programs or welfare agencies
• Carrying out process monitoring, data collection, and reporting

You have experience in early childhood programs and the ability to think on your feet, which allows you to find solutions to complex situations. Your infectious enthusiasm for your job will see you actively seeking out families in need of support. Your cultural knowledge will help you build strong connections with children and families from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. You consider yourself a team player and you have an 'all-hands-on-deck' attitude.

This role requires:

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field (minimum), or considerable demonstrated experience and knowledge in child development
• Experience working with children 0-6yrs and families in a group setting
• Prior experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and/or CALD communities
• Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework
• Competency in the use of Microsoft Office programs and ability to use databases
