Grow Well Live Well (GWLW) is a community initiative funded to facilitate place-based community led decision making about future service design and delivery, to coordinate and integrate services to improve wellbeing of children and young people in Palmerston through a Collective Impact approach. We need you to join our team to provide ongoing support, guiding GWLW's vision and strategies, building public will and mobilising resources.

Where you come in:

In this part-time, fixed-term position (32 hours per week, through to end of June 2022), based in Palmerston, you'll plan, design and facilitate high quality community engagement, collecting community and system knowledge to inform system change and supporting the delivery of strategic projects. Reporting to the Executive Officer, you'll be part of our dynamic Collective Impact team.

You will make an impact by:

  • Enabling Palmerston community input, participation and contribution in GWLW activities by facilitating individual, focus and community group forums
  • Facilitating processes to achieve a deep understanding of identified issues, needs and priorities and tailoring appropriate community engagement approaches
  • Coordinating activities with project partners to maximise engagement
  • Facilitating information and knowledge exchange and data sharing with key stakeholders to enable community-led decision making and practice, policy and system change
  • Contributing to co-design of processes and systems to measure and evaluate the initiative

Does this sound like you?

You have high-level and robust policy analysis skills, paired with an ability to engage both critically and constructively with government and partners on matters important to Palmerston. Your flexibility and drive alongside strong time management and organisational skills sees you successfully work under pressure, in a complex environment, to tight deadlines. You have a 'can-do' attitude, demonstrate an infectious enthusiasm for your job and inspire others to achieve great change. You have an in-depth understanding and proven experience in using an array of advocacy tools to influence change, including private and public advocacy.

This role requires:

  • Excellent knowledge of place-based strategy and collective impact principles and practices
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining stakeholder and community member relationships, having respect to confidentiality of information
  • Strong cultural awareness and ability to establish and maintain positive engagement with Aboriginal people
  • Respect for diversity and understanding of contemporary issues within high needs communities in Palmerston
  • Highly developed facilitation skills, ability to lead complex collaboration projects and co-design processes with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Experience in data collection, monitoring and evaluation
  • Excellent computer literacy and proficient skills in Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and contribute to a team culture
