In this newly created role, you'll take the lead in the development of a new Enterprise Agreement for our Australian Services function. Australian Services is our largest and most complex department, with a cohort of approx. 550 employees who are geographically dispersed across all States and Territories, in urban, regional, and remote settings. We need you to understand the complexity of this workforce and drive us toward the best outcome possible for the new Agreement.

Save the Children is no ordinary not-for-profit.

We're ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children's rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We run programs in Australia and overseas and, if there's a disaster - like an earthquake, drought or conflict - we are there on the ground.

Where you come in:

In this full-time, maximum term position (9 months, with potential for extension), based anywhere in Australia*, you'll work closely with Australian Services leadership, the People & Culture team, Union Representatives, and other internal stakeholders to provide end-to-end management of the Enterprise Agreement process. As part of our People & Culture team, you'll report to our Head of HR - Australian Services, and will have flexibility to work entirely from home if preferred.

You will make an impact by:

  • Interpreting, researching, comparing and providing advice on Awards, Enterprise Agreements, the Fair Work Act, and industry-related information
  • Interpreting employee and Award/EBA related data to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Drafting and negotiating a new Enterprise Agreement
  • In partnership with the Head of HR - AS, leading the change management process end-to-end (including communications plans), while ensuring risk mitigation
  • Assisting with enterprise bargaining, advocacy and negotiations with Unions and other external bodies
  • Coordinating records and timeline management for submission to the Fair Work Commission

Does this sound like you?

You're an effective and trusted operator who is renowned for your stakeholder engagement, Industrial Relations expertise, service delivery, accountability, flexibility and autonomy. You'll easily build relationships and collaborate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders across metropolitan, regional and remote areas, and you're motivated by the challenge of large scale projects across complex organisations.

This role requires:

  • Extensive knowledge, understanding ability to interpret and provide advice on Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and the Fair Work Act
  • Extensive experience in the development and implementation of Enterprise Agreements
  • Experience or a robust understanding of the community services or not-for-profit sectors
  • Ability to represent the organisation at negotiations with Unions or Employer Bodies
  • Ability to manage projects from end-to-end and deliver on tight deadlines
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (there may be some flexibility with this requirement if extensive experience is demonstrated)
