Where you come in

In this full-time permanent position, which can be based in any location in the Australia/Pacific time zone, you will build and support a positive wellbeing culture through the development, implementation, monitoring and review of appropriate work systems, education and communication relating to all aspects of injury management, return to work (RTW) and wellbeing. You'll be part of our People, Culture and Risk team and report to our Head of Workplace Safety and Wellbeing.

You will make an impact by:

  • Facilitating and coordinating all workers compensation and injury management activities throughout the organisation
  • Ensuring legislative obligations are met in each State with regards to injury/illness and return to work and workers compensation management
  • Ensuring collaborative relationships with workers, operational management, and human resources personnel to manage cases of both work and non-work-related injury and illness
  • Proactively consulting with internal and external stakeholders and researching and analysing wellbeing data to identify strategic wellbeing opportunities
  • Ensuring workers and managers are informed of Save the Children processes regarding injury/illness and return to work management
  • Developing and implementing a plan of initiatives within the workplace that support a positive wellbeing culture

In addition to your technical knowledge and experience in injury management and return to work coordination, your empathic and people-centric approach, excellent organisation, and administration skills alongside your analytical instincts will see you drive the delivery of quality outcomes within strict deadlines. You're able to plan and prioritise work, are flexible and self-motivated to provide ranging support to see the team succeed.

This role requires:

  • Injury Management Coordinator or Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in managing injury, illness and complex claims, ideally in a multi-state exposure
  • Proven experience in developing, delivering, and interpreting industry benchmarking reports for the purposes of educating key stakeholders in our current performance in workers compensation and insurance premiums, and making recommendations based on this data
  • Knowledge of the workers' compensation system including legislative requirements and the responsibilities of employers and injured employees
  • Ability to liaise and build collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders to drive outcomes and escalations where appropriate
  • Conflict management and issue resolution skills
  • An Allied Health qualification in occupational therapy, psychology, physiotherapy, or rehabilitation counselling, desirable but not essential
