Where you come in:

In this part time, fixed term position (4 days per week, through to end of June 2023) in our Toowoomba-based Domestic and Family Violence Support Service, you'll work within a team to provide case management and safety planning support to women and children who are escaping or experiencing domestic violence. You'll be part of our Queensland Programs team and report to our Team Leader.

You will make an impact by:

  • Providing outreach and refuge-based support to women and children escaping domestic and family violence
  • Conducting intakes with new clients, and completing risk / needs assessments within a trauma informed case management framework
  • Working within policies, procedures and relevant legislation
  • Working with families to source appropriate, safe and sustainable accommodation free from violence and/or connecting families with services to meet their needs

We're seeking a qualified, skilled professional who is passionate about women and children's rights. You're able to work independently and within a team, and you take a trauma-informed, child-focused approach to your practice. Your knowledge of the local culture and community will see you promote the benefits of our domestic and family violence services to connect women and children with the help they need, when they need it.

This role requires:

  • A Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology or relevant Human Services qualification and/or significant experience in a similar DFV service
  • Demonstrated experience delivering case management through an outreach model
  • First Aid Certificate or willingness to attain one
  • Experience in mental health and drug and alcohol services would be desirable
  • Current valid driver's licence
