Where you come in:

In this full time, fixed term position (through to end of December 2021, with strong potential for extension), you'll coordinate the administration of referral intake for new families with children aged 0-18 years across Save the Children's Mount Isa/Gulf Programs. Based either in Mount Isa, or remotely from home elsewhere in Queensland, you'll report to our Regional Manager.

You will make an impact by:

  • Driving quality intake and assessment practices
  • Developing and maintaining operational stakeholder relationships that are critical to the success of the programs
  • Coordinating staff caseloads and program logistics, monitoring and evaluation, risk management and child protection

You're organised, proactive and influential, with exceptional skills in assessing and mitigating harm and working with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure children, their families and individuals receive the right services at the right time. You're known for your diligence, attention to detail and genuine care and concern in your service to others, particularly those experiencing risk and vulnerabilities connected with appropriate supports. You're action driven and outcome focused, you have a high level of integrity and personal accountability, and you're happiest when you are working in a role that provides others access to supports.

This role requires:

  • Demonstrated skills, understanding and experience working within assessment of harm, in Child Protection, Domestic and Family Violence, Youth Justice, substance misuse and/or Mental Health
  • Demonstrated experience in child centred trauma informed practice
  • Experience working in and liaising with rural and remote communities
  • Strong ability to build relationships, liaise and plan with program stakeholders and community members
  • Current valid driver's licence
  • Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor qualification in a relevant human services discipline is desirable
