In this varied and challenging role, you'll develop and lead a high performing and responsive team, to maximise the impact of our programs. Drawing on your leadership, creativity, and collaborative approach, you'll ensure the continual evolution and development of our important work.

We're ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children's rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. Across Western Australia, we support families by tackling issues at a community level to help children get the best start in life. See here for more information on our work across WA.

In this part-time, maximum term position based in Perth (9 day fortnight, until end of June 2022, with strong potential for extension), you'll provide daily structure, coordination and operational support to field staff across three programs. You'll coach and mentor the team with regular progress meetings and supervision, including providing professional development opportunities. Based in West Perth and reporting to our Regional Manager, you'll also be required to make frequent site visits to Gosnells, Armadale, and Newman. Occasional out-of-hours work may be required with reciprocal flexible working arrangements offered.

You will make an impact by:

  • Leading a dedicated team to create meaningful change in the lives of young people and families
  • Providing daily logistical, technical and professional support to the team
  • Monitoring program activities and progress against milestones and outputs
  • Engaging with community stakeholders and service providers, attending meetings and building rapport with client groups

Does this sound like you?

You're an energetic, passionate, and committed leader with the ability to rapidly establish rapport, trust and respect with a diverse team of workers. Your highly developed cultural awareness and openness to learning, partnered with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, will enable you to build trusting relationships and strengthen community partnerships. You're highly organised, solutions-focused and demonstrate excellent initiative and ability to prioritise.

This role requires:

  • A Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology or relevant Human Service Qualification and/or significant experience in a similar service
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, support, engage and professionally develop a team working in multiple sites
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor and evaluate programs
  • Understanding of child protection reporting processes
  • Familiarity with online systems including case management programs and cloud-based portals
