About us

The Melbourne Sport Institute has been providing essential services to over 200 schools across Victoria and NSW for the past 18 years. Our main focus is to promote a holistic approach to wellness by enhancing both physical and mental health in schools.

With mental health being one of the biggest challenges facing schools today, we have launched The School Psychology Initiative, aimed at targeting students during this critical period of development by partnering with schools to improve the reach and accessibility of their existing psychology services. Our clinicians work closely with schools to provide counselling to students both in primary and secondary school as well as state and independent schools.

The role

Our team is growing and therefore we are looking for a psychologist or mental health social worker who is passionate about working with students to provide focused, evidence based psychological interventions to school aged students. We have a number of contract positions available across the state and offer flexibility around hours, choice of days and location.

Requirements

• Full registration with AHPRA as a psychologist, or a registered mental health social worker with the AASW
• Excellent communication skills
• Professional indemnity insurance
• Eligibility to provide Medicare Benefits Schedule services
• Excellent skills in engaging and working with young people and their families
• Ability to work independently, with strong organisational and time management skills
