About the Role

This role will support the Child Protection & Issues Management Officer in the areas of case load, behavioural management, preparation of documents, file maintenance, policy and procedures and assisting with research on contemporary matters. The role will report to the Senior Research Officer.

The role is diverse and challenging and will include a significant amount of client contact. The ideal candidates will have had some experience in an investigation or paralegal role

You will need:

Essential

Relevant tertiary study in the areas of law and/or psychology and a quick-thinking mind with a strong interest in safeguarding children and working within a child protection/issues management framework. Conditions of employment require that candidates must have a valid NSW Working with Children Check and a Police clearance.

Desirable

  • Reliable candidate who is available to commence immediately.
  • Excellent research skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability
    to draft basic correspondence.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality re sensitive matters.
  • Excellent data entry skills and familiarity with all aspects of Microsoft Office (365).
  • Ability to take accurate file notes and file matters appropriately.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • An ability to use initiative and liaise confidently with the child protection team.
  • Excellent typing and computer skills.
  • An ability to enjoy working both as part of a team and independently.
  • An ability to maintain respect and confidentiality at all times when dealing with clients and the team.
  • An ability to digest instructions quickly and produce results.
  • An ability to cope in a fast-paced environment with competing demands on your attention.
