About the role

As an integral member of the Communications team, you will plan, create and implement organisational communications and deliver strategic messaging with a focus on staff communications.

You will collaborate with various internal stakeholders to share and promote SDN practices, history and stories, and develop and deliver campaigns that support strategic and workplace culture initiatives that reflect our Employee Value Proposition.

You will be responsible for planning, creating and delivering content for use across various channels and supporting events including media activities.

This is a full time permanent position based at our Shared Services Office located in Ultimo.

About You

We are looking for a Communications Specialist who has a passion for creating and sharing stories and who has:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing, planning, creating and implementing strategic communications for key strategic and workplace culture initiatives and projects
  • Highly developed skills in writing and managing the production of communications and promotional materials for internal and external audiences
  • Experience in developing and delivering digital and hard copy content across various channels
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Capability to turn technical / professional content into everyday language and stories
  • High attention to detail, strong project and event management skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing or a related field is desirable
  • Working with Children Check Clearance

About the Team

The Communications team leads SDN's strategic communications with oversight of corporate history, identity and branding; stakeholder relationship management and managing corporate affairs.

We're a dynamic, outcomes-focused team working collaboratively with each other as well as with service delivery teams, other shared services staff and leaders across the organisation to drive intentional and transparent internal and external organisational communications.
