The Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) is a purpose-led member-based not-for-profit. ISCA is the peak industry body for advancing sustainability outcomes in infrastructure. ISCA’s purpose is to ensure all infrastructure delivers cultural, social, environmental and economic benefits. ISCA has established itself as an influential membership body within the infrastructure sector, progressing from its infancy as a Sustainability Rating Scheme to now having deepening relationships within the transport sector and growth plans to expand into other sectors such as energy, sustainable finance, local government and renewables. ISCA has since developed a number of tools and services to support industry in the transition to more resilient, inclusive and low-carbon infrastructure.
The Board is well-Governed and comprises a mix of both volunteer Member and Independent Directors. ISCA is seeking applications from experienced Board Directors to Chair the Board as it transforms into its next strategic phase of growth. The intention is for the current Chair, Alison Rowe to announce the incoming Chair and share the transition plan at the Annual General Meeting of Members in November 2021. Key and essential skills being sought include:
In addition to the skills and experience listed above, the new Independent Chair will have values aligned to ISCA’s and an established and credible reputation that will traverse public and private sectors. Sophisticated communications skills, strong leadership and an ability to facilitate independent thought, critical thinking and collaborative behaviours that drive effective Board functioning will be essential to the success of the new Chair. This represents an outstanding opportunity to contribute to a growing organisation that is influencing change and reform in a thriving infrastructure sector delivering intergenerational outcomes.
