Reporting to the Director, Policy & Advocacy, the Senior Policy Advisor will contribute to advancing UnitingCare Australia’s strategic priorities through advocacy and policy development activities. The role will have a particular focus on UnitingCare Australia’s advocacy priority - Justice for First Peoples.
To be considered for this role you will be experienced in public policy, service delivery and advocacy. You will have a in depth knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and related societies, coupled with an understanding of historical and contemporary issues relating to Australia’s First Peoples. You will have highly developed stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with traditional owner groups and their representatives. Applicants will have tertiary qualifications, a strong commitment to social justice and a preparedness to work within the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia.
