Sea Shepherd sees the key threats to ocean to be, Plastic Pollution, Illegal Fishing, Climate Change, and threats to vulnerable and endangered species.
Sea Shepherd Australia’s Marine Debris Campaign is on the front lines, fighting against the scourge of plastics that pollute coastlines and waterways. We have committed volunteer marine debris teams located all around Australia hosting regular community clean-ups and conduct intensive remote clean-up campaigns in places that demonstrate that no-where is safe from marine plastic pollution.
The Administration Coordinator for the Marine Debris Campaign will be required to deliver excellence in campaign/event administration and volunteer management to our volunteer marine debris teams, as well as being the first point of point of contact for all campaign enquiries, so experience working with volunteers and the public is essential.
Working closely with our National Marine Debris Campaigner, Remote Marine Debris Campaigner, and volunteer Marine Debris Team Coordinators located around Australia, the successful candidate will provide administration support, assist Coordinators to ensure all campaign events are safe, inclusive and comply with government requirements, assist with communications and delivery of campaign initiatives.

We are seeking a motivated, independent, values-driven person with a passion and understanding of the not-for-profit sector with experience in managing volunteers, volunteer run events and office administration. This role will suit someone who is enthusiastic, organised, a can-do attitude and a flexible approach to tasks and working hours. The successful candidate will be digitally savvy, have excellent office coordination skills, loves the detail and is happy undertaking a diverse range of administrative tasks. This is a busy role in a small, but passionate team.
