ABOUT THE ROLE

This role will be responsible for managing and delivering high-quality data analytics and health research projects to inform evidence-based program development. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to analyse and assess the health and service needs of people in our catchment. You will also identify opportunities and inform priorities for SEMPHN’s commissioning activities. You will use your technical and analytical expertise to extract and analyse population health data as well as interpret and present the analytical findings in both written and visual formats.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this fantastic opportunity you must have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in either public health, statistics, data analytics, epidemiology, or related health area with a major focus on quantitative research methods, or extensive relevant experience.
  • Advanced conceptual and analytical skills with strong knowledge of research and statistical methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in the analysis and interpretation of large complex administrative health data.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of statistical software packages (such as R, Stata, SPSS, Python, SAS).
  • Experience in maintaining and querying complex relationship databases (such as Access, SQL) and experience with business analytics tools (such as Tableau, Power BI and/or Qlik Sense) is an advantage.
  • Strong writing skills, with a proven experience in preparing project briefs and reports that relate to complex issues.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, representational and communications skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to provide consolidated and relevant advice to various teams.
