Jordon Steele-John is a Greens Senator for Western Australia. We're looking for a Community Campaigner to join our Perth-based team for a parental leave cover. Our Community Campaigner will develop and implement campaign strategy across our portfolios (including Youth, Disability, Peace, and Trade) and will develop action plans that are led by our community to achieve political outcomes. The role includes:

  • Implementing the Senator’s campaign strategy, including the development and actioning of a state-wide and national community engagement plan complete with both online and offline participation opportunities.
  • Building mutually beneficial relationships within strategically identified communities.
  • Developing an integrated Community and Constituent Response Strategy covering all forms of community contact including email, letters, direct messages via the Senators social media accounts, comments via social media accounts.
  • Working to ensure people are able to engage in the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, and Neglect of Disabled People. Including advising the public on pathways to make a submission and building relationships with disability community advocates and organisations.
  • Liaising with national and state campaigners to build mutually beneficial relationships that progress the Senator’s campaign priorities.
  • Identifying campaign opportunities that support parliamentary work and parliamentary opportunities that will support ongoing campaigns.
  • Assisting with the administration of budgets
  • Attending and/or representing the Senator at meetings and public engagements.
  • Working in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Processes, the Access and Inclusion Processes, and other workplace compliance policies and practices.
