Our Organisation:

Shepparton Retirement Villages (SRV) is a non-for-profit community-based organisation that was founded by the Rotary Club of Shepparton back in 1968. Since that time SRV has become the largest provider of aged care services in the Shepparton region.

SRV is responsible for the delivery of care across 271 residential aged care beds, 288 independent living units and 26 aged care packages. Services are delivered across 3 campuses however our care packages are delivered across Shepparton and the region.

This position assists Care Managers of our residential care facilities in leading and supporting the delivery of a high standard of clinical care for residents and to ensure SRV maintains full accreditation against the Aged Care Quality Standards and other compliance standards as required.

Our Role:

This position will primarily be responsible for undertaking reviews and completing independent audits in the areas of:

  • Specialised Nursing (Falls, Diabetes, Wounds, Catheters, Oxygen, Stoma & Warfarin)
  • Auxiliary audits (including but not limited to) Continuous Quality Improvement Plans, Resident of the Day, Advanced Care Plans etc.

This position will be responsible for collating data required for:

  • Key Performance indicators
  • National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program (My Aged Care).

Key Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field eg. Quality management, aged care
  • Current registration with AHPRA and significant hands-on clinical experience
  • A high level of verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including presenting, report writing
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Flexibility
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrable evidence of pro-active problem solving
  • Demonstrable evidence of successful data analysis
  • Demonstrable experience of developing successful working relationships at all levels of an organisation
  • Demonstrable experience of being able to pro-actively influence colleagues to achieve desired results

Desirable

  • Experience in Aged Care, Health Care, or a related sector
  • A strong understanding of legislation and standards as they relate to Aged Care and NDIS services
  • Experience developing, implementing and/or maintaining quality systems
  • Experience in leading and overseeing audit/assurance activities
  • Skills and analysing and synthesising information and drawing out implications for practice and improvement
  • Experience using process mapping and quality improvement skills to support change management
  • Advanced writing skills – reports, policies, procedures, training resources
  • Experience of training team members in small groups including developing and delivering presentations
  • Intermediate level MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Current drivers’ licence.

Additional Information:

  • A police check/criminal record check is required prior to employment
  • Working across all sites, is potentially required.
  • The probationary period for this position is 6 months (if a permanent role).
  • All employees are required to be fully COVID vaccinated in accordance with Victorian Government directives or must be able to provide appropriate medical exemption documentation

All staff within Aged Care Facilities work as members of a team and tasks are divided between team members. Facilities operate on a 24 hour basis and all staff are required to work variable shifts. The requirement for flexibility of work location, the willingness to work varied shifts and occasionally at short notice is considered of utmost importance to the smooth running of the Facilities at Shepparton Villages Inc.
