Role Description

This is a part-time, 2.5 days/week (with the opportunity for full-time in the future) position that involves the assessment and treatment of children with communication difficulties. Our caseload is mainly NDIS participants and includes a variety of clinic based, school, and home sessions.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provision of clinical services in the clinic and community as directed by the Shifa Health Clinic key personnel
  • Plan and co-ordinate care for clients with a focus on fostering positive relationship, functional goal setting and parent involvement
  • Provide education for client’s carers and families on various communicative difficulties as well as therapeutic practices
  • Prepare professional reports for clients as required
  • Documentation of all aspects of care including progress notes and correspondence with families or other professionals
  • Follow correct procedures if involved in work-related incidents or accidents
  • Manage time effectively, fulfilling requirements for hours of work
  • Ability to prioritise case and workload and complete tasks and reports within timeframes allocated by the business
  • Maintain awareness of current NDIS legislation to ensure compliance
  • Meet Key Performance Index (KPI) requirements with reports and travel included in KPI calculation
  • Some administrative tasks including taking payments, emailing invoices, etc.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Speech Pathology
  • Current registration with SPA
  • Eligibility for Medicare provider status
  • Current drivers licence and use of own car for community appointments
  • Current Working with Children's Check and Police Check
  • Certificate of full vaccination status
  • 1+ year(s) experience working as a Speech Pathologist with a paediatric caseload, but new grads welcome to apply!!
