Silver Chain is looking for Passionate, Kind and Dedicated Care Workers to help our clients live a healthy, safe and independent life in their homes.

Services delivered to our clients will include, but are not limited to: Personal CareSocial Support, Respite and Home-Exercise programs. You can also expect to receive a portion of Domestic Assistance.

We are looking for Care Workers (Care Aides) both on a casual & perm part-time basis.  If you have your qualification that’s fantastic however this is not essential to join us, if you have the experience and the desire to become qualified, we want to support you earn while you learn. We’re now offering our providers far greater flexibility and look forward to discussing this with you in more detail.

Silver Chain Contracts!

We are seeking Care Workers (Care Aides) who are available to work across a number of shifts between Monday to Friday. Silver Chain understands that these are extraordinary times, so we will work with you and your available days and times to secure the right position for you.

We require candidates with a minimum of 3 days per weekhowever for those that have 4 or 5 days available to work, Silver Chain can guarantee you more hours each fortnight being;

  • 30hrs for those available 10 days per fortnight
  • 24hrs for those available 8 days per fortnight
  • 18hrs for those available 6 days per fortnight

 Day Shifts are typically rostered between 7am to 12pm and 12pm to 4pm and Afternoon/Evening shifts are typically rostered between 4pm to 10pm (Monday through to Friday) - We also have a portion of positions where the start time of 9am is available, this can be discussed with your recruitment consultant.

Silver Chain also have weekend work available, so please advise if you’re able to commit to shifts on Saturday and Sunday.

About You

Successful candidates are required to demonstrate the following:

  • Community Care Experience (or relevant industry experience)
  • Current Australian driver’s license
  • Registered Vehicle, suitable for work purposes
  • Pass a medical appraisal (known as FCT)

Care Aide benefits include the following:

  • Smart phone & training provided to perform your work
  • Hourly rate of $32.72p/h plus Super for Casual, & $26.18p/h plus Super for Part-Time.
  • Minimum of 3hrs per shift for casual and perm-part time
  • Travel allowance of $0.80 per kilometre for travel between clients
  • Salary packaging, up-to $15,899 per year

Selection Criteria

  1. Essential: Do you have any Community Elder Care experience?
  2. Essential: Please list your availability to work across Monday to Friday? (if you can work weekends, please list this also) eg, Mon-Wed-Thu-Fri 7am-3pm
  3. Essential: Do you hold an Australian full C Class drivers licence?
  4. Essential: Do you have a reliable, registered motor vehicle for work purposes?
  5. Essential: Do you hold a Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, HACC or Disability? If not, are you willing to work towards securing one?
  6. Essential: Are you currently on any type of visa? If yes, please provide details of the sub-class
