About the role

The role of Clinical Nurse Consultant Manager for the Shark Bay Health Centre is  a wonderful opportunity for a seasoned manager or indeed an emerging manager to lead a small health care team in an unique location .

This is a new role so the ability to shape the role and the service you lead is a fabulous opportunity that will be rewarding but also at times challenging.

This position is full time and is offered on a fixed term contract basis for 12 months

About the Shark Bay Health Centre

• Health Centre is open from 0830 to 1630 Mon to Fri-provides a full range of health care (Primary Care Model)
• Afterhours emergency service provided
• Team of four staff -two remote area nurses and two office assistants
• WA Country Health Service provides emergency telehealth and general practitioner services 

As an integral part of the Silver Chain Leadership team, you will;

• You will manage the overall day to day operation of the services and staff
• Use your clinical knowledge and expertise to lead, manage and support staff to achieve and deliver safe, effective and high-quality care in line with the Silver Chain standards.
• Have responsibility for day-to-day clinical and operational decisions including but not limited to client & employee issues, resource needs, advice within the police & procedures, contracts and governance supported by the CNCM
• Oversee the Shark Bay operational budgets
• Be client facing when needed , including some on call
• On call is shared with two other nursing staff 

About you

We are looking for an experienced /emerging Leader with strong clinical skills .

Essential:

• Current registration with AHPRA
• Clinical Nursing experience in emergency or critical care areas
• Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and support clinical teams
• A flexible approach together with decision making, negotiation, influencing and advanced problem-solving skills
• Highly developed communication skills (written and verbal)
• Current Australian drivers’ licence

Desirable:

• Previous experience in like role
• Tertiary qualifications in relevant field

Under the Aged Care act 1997, successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to commencement.

• Qualifications allowance - Eligible employees with a post graduate qualification will receive an additional annual  amount as a percentage of their base salary

• 5 weeks annual leave – pro rata.  Option to purchase leave also (up to 2 additional weeks)
