The Opportunity

This role will cover areas of high demand within the metropolitan area. Working autonomously in the community, you will be responsible for the professional delivery of high-quality physiotherapy services to clients across a number of programmes. You will work with clients to help them maximise their physical potential and achieve optimum independence and quality of life in their own homes. You will be part of a team of Allied health Professionals and Therapy Assistants. You will be provided with the technology and resources required to do the job. 

Key responsibilities

  • Community based role with a strong focus on enhancing the independence of our clients on short term programs.
  • You will have the ability to build trust and rapport with all your clients.
  • Carry out an intensive assessment of their needs and create personal care plans so they can achieve the goals you have both set.
  • You will organise other resources to assist with the care plans if they are a requirement and this may include Therapy assistants.
  • You will be up to date to with funding streams, access to equipment, services and community groups to also share with your clients.
  • The ability and understanding that every client is different, each will have their own challenges and personal goals.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external health professionals and services.
  • Liaise with families/care providers by providing ongoing support, care and education.
  • The ability to work independently and good time management skills.
  • Plan and carry out relevant training/handovers to staff including Therapy Assistants.

About you

  • Full AHPRA Registration with no restrictions.
  • Demonstrated experience in client work in a community, hospital or rehabilitation setting.
  • Sound knowledge of assessments and treatments.
  • Excellent client centred focus along with effective communication/problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of funding and services.
  • Pool cars are accessible for use to the Allied Health Team.

Under the Aged Care Act 1997, successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to commencement.

  • Essential: Do you hold a full (not on P or L plates) C Class drivers license?
  • Essential: Do you hold current registration with AHPRA?
  • Essential: Do you have a reliable, registered motor vehicle for work purposes?
  • Desirable: Do you have previous experience in a community or residential environment within the aged care industry?
