Smart Support is seeking a passionate and experienced Support Worker interested in a rewarding career within the disability sector. This vital frontline role will entail supporting a lovely client in the South or Eastern Melbourne Metropolitan area.

You will be part of a supportive team and with your initiative and commitment, you will help nurture an environment that encourages the development of daily living, social and recreational skills that maximise independence and assist our clientele to achieve their personal goals and assist to keep their mental health stable.

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Assist participants with personal self-care, healthcare and hygiene. This could be in areas such as dressing, bathing, toileting, and eating.
  • Assist participants to develop community skills. This could include tasks like budgeting, shopping, cooking and management of your home.
  • Support activities of mobility and transferring, which promote independence.
  • Support participants with necessary household duties such as cooking, cleaning and laundry activities.
  • Support participants to keep themselves and their environments safe, clean and healthy.
  • Assists in medication management or attending medical appointments.
  • Supporting social, vocational and community activities
  • Developing relationships in the wider community.
  • Assisting in the development of care plans.
  • Secretarial support and/or assisting with administrative functions

IDEALLY, YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Proven experience in supporting people with mental health and psychosocial conditions
  • Efficient in risk assessments and documentation to report to Smart Support
  • Able to work and communicate in a team environment
  • You must hold the following which are requirements of this position:
  • Current Victorian Drivers License and roadworthy car
  • Current First Aid Certificate Inc. CPR
  • Full Victorian Working With Children Check
  • Basic computer and technology knowledge
  • Be will to get a NDIS Worker Screening
  • Hold a qualification in Community Services, Disability, Mental Health, Aged Care or nursing. Or be studying in this field.
  • Up-to-date National Police Check (Nothing older then 3 months old).
  • Be fully COVID Vaccinated and provide their Vaccination Certificate with 3 or more clear doses of Vaccination.

Casual hours: 2 hrs to 38 hrs of work available

Salary: $29.00 – $44.00 per hour

Casual hours: 10+ hrs weekly
