The Smith Family is an independent children's charity helping Australian children living in disadvantage to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. As we lead up to our Centenary, it’s an exciting time to be joining our family. We are currently seeking a Careers Pathway Program Coordinator to help us achieve The Smith Family’s vision.

Reporting to the Program Manager and working with a dedicated, energised, and passionate team in a fast-paced environment. This role will coordinat the delivery of the programs under the Career Pathway program – i.e Work Inspiration (Face to face and Digital), Work Inspiration Reach out and Exploring Educational Pathways across multiple states in collaboration with community based Learning for Life Teams including Programs Coordinators.

A day in the life of a Careers Pathway Program Coordinator might look like this, but every day can be different. Primarily, you will be responsible for:

  • Support Learning for Life Programs Coordinators to coordinate delivery of the Career Pathways Program
  • Monitor recruitment against targets and support Programs Coordinators where possible to achieve these
  • Support Relationship managers to engage Host Employers to run Work Inspiration
  • Support Host Employers to develop and deliver their Work Inspiration events to ensure adherence to program elements.
  • Report monthly against project plans to the Program Manager
  • Work with the Training Manager to identify gaps and appoint qualified training facilitators to deliver Work inspiration reach out programs
  • Identify areas for program improvement
  • Maintain productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders across multiple business areas

Our successful candidate will bring the following:

  • Experience in project or program coordination in the social/community sector
  • Experience in facilitation in a school setting (this can be formal or informal)
  • Comfortable in basic data analysis and entry
  • Well-developed organisation, administration and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with internal and external people at all levels
  • Intermediate MS Office skills
