As we lead up to our Centenary, it’s an exciting time to be joining our family.

We are currently seeking a Data Analyst o help us achieve The Smith Family’s vision. Reporting to the Data Platform Manager and working with a dedicated and passionate team, the data analyst will map, analyze and document business requirements, prototyping visualizations and manage deliverables in an agile environment working closely with the business units to ensure they’re getting full value out of the Data Platform thereby contributing to the overall Smith Family’s vision.

A day in the life of a Data Analyst might look like this, but every day can be different. Primarily, you will be responsible for:

  • Applying technical expertise to gather and map functional requirements into technical requirements
  • Data modelling techniques to provide advice on data cleansing and quality improvements
  • Taking part in platform agile sessions like Refinement and Planning sessions to articulate the business needs with developers (including but not limited to data definitions, wireframes, data visualisation mock-ups)
  • Assistance with User Acceptance testing and delivery of product
  • Support self-service business users

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated recent experience as a Data Analyst working in Agile BI environment
  • Strong experience in stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to model datasets and query databases such as SQL Server and MySQL
  • Experience with reporting & data visualisation tools like PowerBI
  • Understanding of ETL framework and ETL tools like Microsoft SSIS
  • Some experience working with MS Azure Cloud architecture or similar
  • Communication skills with effective stakeholder management & conflict resolution skills
