The Smith Family is an independent children's charity helping Australian children living in disadvantage to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. We are currently seeking a Digital Platform Manager to join our growing team.

Reporting to the CIO and working with a purposeful and passionate team, this pivotal role will lead the development and operation of all Digital Platforms in use by The Smith Family. This includes driving the strategic roadmap and architecture, operational performance, service availability, management of technical debt and disaster recovery. You will drive platform-based value outcomes that support and enable flawless digital experiences to our community, partners and people, contributing to The Smith Family’s vision.

A day in the life of a Digital Platform Manager might look like this, but every day can be different. Primarily, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining strong and effective customer service and relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Leading a high-functioning team, committed to service outcomes and sharing best practices
  • Ensure health and security of platform on an ongoing basis
  • Work with stakeholders to identify solutions that meet business need and are in alignment with technology strategy and architecture
  • Ensuring Digital Vendor contract management, engagement and co-ordination
  • Managing platform enhancement projects for Digital Platforms
  • Managing Platform budget and spending
  • Working with multiple delivery teams and vendors to develop and implement solutions on time, within budget to exceptional quality.

It takes a special kind of person to be our Digital Platform Manager. Our successful candidate will bring the following:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology
  • 5+ years’ experience leading a team in an agile ecosystem
  • 10+ years’ experience in Digital Application Development using ASP.NET Framework, .NET core, C#, JavaScript, MS SQL Server and front end technologies e.g. Vue.js or React
  • Sitecore CMS and/or Moodle LMS development experience
  • Experience working in Azure SaaS/PaaS based environment
  • Experience in DevOps environment highly desirable
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
