The Smith Family is a national, independent children’s charity helping disadvantaged Australians to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. The Office & Sponsorship Administration Team Leader is responsible for providing best practice supporter care to our Donors, Learning for Life sponsors and other Smith Family supporters, with the aim of maximising sponsor retention, growth, and conversion of prospective supporters, minimising sponsor attrition, and increasing the number and satisfaction of supporters.

A day in the life of the Office & Sponsorship Administration Team Leader might look like this, but really every day will be different:

  • Ensuring new staff are inducted with clear understanding of WHS processes and procedures at National office
  • Reviewing current national administration supplier contracts in accordance with company policy
  • Manage performance by having regular one on one meetings; giving and receiving feedback; acknowledging achievements and conducting formal and informal performance and development reviews and planning discussions
  • Training and recruitment of new volunteers to support Supporter Care and National Office Administration functions
  • Work with Marketing, Information Services and Supporter Care teams to maintain and improve letter templates, supporter correspondence and student allocations to increase sponsor retention and minimise attrition

It takes a special kind of person to be our Office & Sponsorship Administration Team Leader. Successful candidates will bring the following:

  • Tertiary qualification and/or commensurate workplace experience in a similar role
  • 3 years customer service
  • 3 years administration experience
  • People Management Experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to learning, developing skills and sharing knowledge and information
  • Proven staff development strategies
