The Smith Family is an independent children's charity helping Australian children living in disadvantage to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. We are currently seeking a Project Manager, Communities for Children to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Regional Community Development Manager - NSW & ACT and working with a dedicated and passionate team in this pivotal role you will contribute to The Smith Family’s vision, primarily for the management and delivery of the Communities for Children Facilitating Partner initiative in Bankstown.

A day in the life of a Project Manager, Communities for Children might look like this, but every day can be different

Primarily, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the delivery of the key initiative outcomes and guiding principles of the Communities for Children Facilitating Partner Bankstown as determined by the funding agreement and guidelines provided by the Department of Social Services (DSS)
  • Manage CfCFP local governance through the effective establishment and engagement of the Communities for Children Committee
  • Responsible for all site specific compliance requirements as relating to the CfCFP
  • Clearly communicate team and organisation wide information to team members
  • Liaise with leaders in collaboration and place based approaches
  • Oversight of Bansktown CfCFP evaluation and data management processes

It takes a special kind of person to be our Communities for Children Project Manager.

Our successful candidate will bring the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Education, Health, Early Childhood, Human Services or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the scoping, design and implementation of strategic community projects
  • Experience in adaptive leadership role with ability to respond to multiple and diverse stakeholder needs whilst ensuring the needs of the project are met
  • Demonstrated high level experience in project management including financial, contractual and report writing
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • High level influencing and persuasive skills and the ability to initiate and drive change
  • Full current NSW Driver Licence
